Jorge Acevedo rescued from a life of addictions, his greatest delight is connecting people to Jesus and the Church. Grace Church, where Jorge pastors, is recognized as having one of the largest and most effective recovery ministries in America with over 600 people involved in weekly recovery ministries.

Dr. Stephen Arterburn is the founder and chairman of New Life Ministries-the nation's largest faith-based broadcast, counseling and treatment ministry-and is the host of the nationally syndicated New Life Live! daily radio program heard on over 180 radio stations nationwide.

Johnny Baker has been on staff at Celebrate Recovery for five years and has been the Director of Celebrate Recovery at Saddleback Church for two. As an adult child of an alcoholic who chose to become an alcoholic himself, Johnny is passionate about breaking the cycle of disfunction in his family and helping other families find the tools that will lead to healing and openness. Not only has he seen Celebrate Recovery work in the life of his parents and countless others, but he has seen it work in his own life as well. Johnny is a nationally recognized speaker and teacher of Celebrate Recovery and is an Associate Editor of the Celebrate Recovery Bible.

Jessica Briggs co-leads an effective church-based Life Coaching ministry. She is currently the assistant director for leadership programs for the Kravis Leadership Institute at Claremont McKenna College. Her passion is to see people lead fulfilling, purpose driven lives, fully aware of their unique gifts and skills.

Greg Callow is a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at Aurora Mental Health Hospital in Covina, California. As a recovering alcoholic, he has over twenty years of experience in the 12 Step Process.

Julie Casey is a fifteen year veteran of leading and leading leaders of recovery small groups. Though an avid learner, her primary training is through “The School of Hard Knocks.” Confronting an angry leader, navigating the “overtones” of suicidal threats, and sustaining quality over time are all examples of the recovery curriculum she’s enthusiastic to share with others.

Dr. Rod Casey is the Senior Associate Pastor of Woodcrest Chapel in Columbia, Missouri and oversees his church's commitment to the essential link between emotional health and Christian formation. For Rod, recovery is not only about scandalous behavior, it's about feeling abandoned by a father who was a too-busy pastor or the hurt left in the wake of a friend leaving the church.

Dr. Ian Chand has a Ph.D. with an emphasis on Individual and Family Studies; and post-doctrinal training in Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to his work at Loma Linda University, he also trains counselors as well as maintains a clinical practice.

Dr. Gary G. Collins a licensed Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist, Gary is Professor of Psychology and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies at California Baptist University. Professional specialties include Forensic Assessment and the treatment of trauma, anxiety and mood disorders.

Dr. Travis Collins is a graduate of Samford University and earned the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Travis' twenty-five plus years of ministry have included missionary service in Nigeria. He is the author of Directionally Challenged (2007) and Tough Calls (2008).

Jim Cosby launched and developed the Recovery Ministry ten years ago at Christian Assembly Church in Eagle Rock California, where he serves on the pastoral staff. This ministry has impacted hundreds of lives through the message of hope and transformation.

Dr. Kim Engelmann before assuming her present duties as a senior pastor of West Valley Presbyterian in Cupertino, California, Kim served as Pastor of Caring Ministries at Menlo Park Presbyterian where she was responsible for recovery and support groups, crisis intervention, and prayer ministries. She is the author of several books including, Running in Circles.

Richard Grosse has twenty years experience working in individual, couples and family therapy in Richmond, Virginia. He has experience working with a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. Working with both teens and adults, Richard co-facilitates adolescent treatment groups focusing on substance abuse, anger management and high risk behavior.

Ron Hall with twenty years of Christian integrative therapeutic experience in pastoral care and designing innovative curriculum for Christ’s Church of the Valley in San Dimas, California. Ron finds joy in helping others get beyond personal road blocks and onto the joy of experiencing Christ in their life.

Chad Hunt is the lead pastor of Caveland Church in south central Kentucky. Chad developed a unique recovery model that is now being used in churches around the country. He is the author of the Addiction Deliverance Outreach book and workbook. Chad provides training for churches and organizations that want to start outreach ministries.

Jeff Jernigan is President for the Men’s Division of Life Purpose Coaching Center’s International and Senior Pastor for West Community Friends Church in southern California. His latest book on leadership, TILT: Building Hope, Empowering Leaders, is due for release in November (Abingdon Press). The Power of a Loving Man, a cornerstone book in men’s ministry (Broadman & Holman Publishers, 2006) is in bookstores.

Nancy Jernigan is a licensed professional coach and a life planning expert known nationally for her work in life planning, discipleship for women, and leadership in women’s ministry. She has also trained and equipped ministry leaders internationally in emerging leadership practices. Together, Nancy and Jeff have developed the internationally acclaimed I Choose Us marriage recovery program.

Hector Lozano, National Director for Celebrate Recovery Inside (jails/prisons) is a graduate of the UC/Davis and retired from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation following a 27-year career where he was instrumental in establishing a Celebrate Recovery cell-block therapeutic community. He is responsible for advancing CR inside jails, prisons and re-entry facilities collaboratively with CR ministries throughout the U.S. His passion is to see God change the broken from the inside out.

Susan Leonard is currently serving as the Director of Counseling Ministries at Big Valley Grace Church in Modesto, California. With 19 years recovery experience, Susan has held the position of director of Single Women which included leading Recovery Ministries, Financial Recovery Ministries and counseling individuals and couples as well as beginning and leading a Celebrate Recovery in Maui, Hawaii.

Teresa McBean Begun ten years ago as a pilot project designed to serve addicts and their families, NorthStar Community, where Teresa serves as Pastor, has grown into a loving community that minister in prisons, through a television broadcast, and assists other churches interested in planting thriving recovery ministries. Teresa ministers extensively through her writing and speaking about the Christ-centered twelve steps and other topics of interest to families in distress.

Ann Markovich As an Associate Pastor of Care Ministries at Woodland Hills Church since 2004, Ann oversees the Recovery Ministry, Benevolence and Crisis Assessments and Interventions. She has her MA in Marriage & Family Therapy and is currently practicing privately.

Dr. Carolyn Clansy Miller is a psychologist, speaker and life coach. She is the co-owner of Charis Psychological Associates, in Houston, Texas. In her former role as the Senior Director of Education and Pastoral Care and Recovery at the 47,000-member Lakewood Church, Carolyn led over a thousand staff and volunteers. Her experience and background in recovery ministry, along with her refreshing style, practical and real—make her message powerful and life-transforming.

Scott Miller is the Pastor of Recovery and Counseling Ministries at Big Valley Grace Community Church in Modesto, CA. He oversees a weekly Celebrate Recovery Ministry that now serves over 400 people of all ages, each week. He is himself a recovering drug addict with a passion for serving those who like him, are broken and needy.

Kristin Ritzau is the founder and director of A Beautiful Mess, a perfectionist recovery ministry in Southern California and also the author of the upcoming book A Beautiful Mess: A Perfectionist's Journey Through Self-Care (release in 2010) . For the past 4 years she has been leading retreats and self-care workshops that are revolutionizing women's ministry. Through her daily work at Azusa Pacific University and moonlighting as a recovering perfectionist, her journey of self-care is truly unique.

Dr. Kathy Rodriguez is a psychologist and associate pastor at East Hill Foursquare Church in Gresham, Oregon. After 16 years of private practice, Kathy began overseeing Healing Discipleship, Restoration Ministries, and Pastoral Care at East Hill church eight years ago. She specializes in treating the emotional wounds individuals carry from their past such as addictions, abuse, eating disorders, and family of origin issues. Kathy is also the author of several books including The Father Wound.

Roy Ronveaux is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2000. He is an Associate Pastor of Care and Counseling at the Grove Community Church in Riverside, California. As a recovery ministry veteran of 20+ years, Roy has been busy helping hurting people developing and teaching the Divorce and Grief Recovery workshops. He currently supervises an onsite Counseling Center with over 20 interns and trainees.

Matt Russell is the founding pastor of Mercy Street, a church comprised of recovering addicts and folks who have had negative past church experiences. Since planting the church in 1999 with 25 people, Mercy Street has grown to a community of over 800 with a staff of 10. The community is comprised of 5 different half-way houses, 4 adolescent alternative peer groups, people involved in various 12 Step programs as well as a host ‘normies’.

Dr. Dale Ryan is the CEO of Christian Recovery International and an Associate Professor of Recovery Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary. He has worked full-time in the area of Christian recovery ministry for the last 19 years. He has been instrumental in helping to birth a variety of recovery ministries including the Clergy Recovery Network, Confident Kids and the National Association for Christian Recovery.

Linda Sibley is the author and founder of Confident Kids Support Groups. Since 1987 she has been developing resources for children’s support groups and traveling extensively to train local church leaders how to provide this kind of ministry to children and their parents. Her husband, David, is the Executive Director of the Confident Kids organization and Linda’s co-trainer. They live on California’s Central Coast where they also run Confident Kids Groups in their church.

Dr. Don R. Simmons is President and Senior Consultant with Creative Potential Consulting and Training. Don specializes in assisting organizations in the areas of strategic planning, volunteer leadership, conflict management and team development. His clients include several Fortune 500 companies as and he is a national trainer and writes for Group Publishing, Outreach Magazine and Leadership Network. He strongly believes in the power of engaged people to make consequential changes. He mentors and tutors in his urban neighborhood.

Dr. Danae Stewart is the president/CEO of Project Unleashed, a nationally recognized church planting and house church network consulting ministry and also a Certified Professional Coach with Coach Net. She is the pastor with Missions and Outreach, Corona Friends Church and an author and speaker.

Scott Stubbert serves as the Pastor of Recovery Ministries at Big Valley Grace Community Church in Modesto California. Scott has personal experience with sexual addiction. He has experience helping Junior High and High school students with their hurts, habits, and hang-ups as he has been leading Life Hurts God Heals for 4 years at Big Valley.

Gregg Taylor is the pastor of Mercy Street, a community in Houston that creates a safe environment for the hurt, the lost, and the seeking to experience the radical grace of God. The unique Mercy Street community forms a beautiful mosaic of people diverse in experiences and backgrounds but common in desire to seek a closer relationship with God. The majority of Mercy Street people are in recovery from addictions, bad church experiences, and anything that has left us bruised and battered and broken. Bill Thrall Prior to joining Leadership Catalyst, Bill founded and pastored Open Door Fellowship Church for over 20 years. Bill mentors leaders world-wide in churches, missions, ministries and corporate settings. He is co-author of the books, The Ascent of a Leader, Beyond Your Best, and the TrueFaced Experience resources.

Dr. John Townsend is a psychologist, consultant, speaker and author of the best-seller Boundaries. He co-hosts the nationally-syndicated daily radio program New Life Live! He is a business consultant, and operates his own Leadership Coaching Program. Dr. Townsend also speaks nationally and internationally on families, emotional issues and business.

Dr. Harold Urschel is founder / CEO of the Urschel Recovery Science Institute - Dallas/Ft Worth’s only outpatient addiction treatment center of excellence. He is also Chief Medical Strategist and Co-founder of EnterHealth, an addiction disease management company based in Dallas (www.EnterHealth.com). Dr. Urschel is currently certified in both addiction and general psychiatry. Since 1998, Dr. Urschel has been implementing the Recovery Science program at two area hospitals and one world class addiction treatment residential facility, Enterhealth’s Life Recovery Center in North Texas. He is the author of Healing the Addicted Brain.

Pieter Van Waarde is the Senior Pastor of Columbia, Missouri’s Woodcrest Chapel and the Executive Director and Senior consultant for Team Building Resources. Pieter regularly promotes the principles of recovery (emotional health and healing from substance abuse) in his weekend preaching. He knows first hand the rewards and risks of embracing hurting people and helping them to heal. His book, Building Teams that L.A.S.T. is the foundation of Woodcrest’s team approach to recovery ministry.

Jane Wolf is the founding director of Life Path Ministries -- a small group based, lay-led recovery, restoration and rebuilding ministry started at Salem Alliance Church in Salem, Oregon in 1991. She also works as a church consultant to other churches in the area of recovery ministry. Previous to this she was in private practice as a Marriage and Family Counselor. She considers her years as the 12-Step-practicing mother of an alcoholic/addict son the most important spiritually formative years of her life.

Irene Wood has served as a Life Coach at her local church for the past 5 years. She loves to encourage and help others recognize God's plan for their lives. She discovered her passion for coaching while working as an Outplacement Career Counselor.
